The purpose of this blog is to help, guide and encourage medical students and doctors who wish to work in the UK. There are many pathways for doctors to find employment in the UK. However, PLAB is the shortest, easiest, least expensive and the most convenient pathway. Thus, this blog focuses primarily on PLAB.
The most important thing to know is that your UK dream is very much achievable. If your English is good, IELTS will be very easy for you. Regardless of your clinical knowledge, skills or recent practice, if you study smartly, PLAB 1 can be the easiest exam of your life. PLAB 2 will require dedicated studying for a few weeks, but you can manage that as well. You’ve passed a lot more difficult exams during your medical school.
It is also important to know that the GMC plans on replacing the PLAB exam by the UKMLA exam by 2022. You can find more information about the UKMLA by following the link. You can keep an eye on the latest developments regarding the UKMLA if you follow the news centre on the GMC website.
I passed my PLAB 2 exam on 22 February 2017. And making this blog go live was my way of celebrating with the PLAB community.
Whatever I have shared on my blog is only my opinion. You will find people who would disagree with some of my views. I will not advise you to follow me or anyone else blindly. The best thing to do would be to research yourself, by checking official websites and consulting others on Facebook.
