  1. Get the provisional driving licence.
  2. Start studying for the theory test.
  3. Start taking driving lessons.
  4. Pass the theory test.
  5. Pass the driving test.

Once you pass the driving test, you will get the full driving licence.

  • You must have your visa valid for more than 6 months.

Procedure for Applying for Provisional Licence

There are two ways of applying for the Provisional Driving Licence.

  1. Online.
  2. Via Post Office.

1. Online

Go to the official DVLA website and click on Start Now. You will be asked a few questions about yourself and asked to pay a fee of £34 by MasterCard, Visa, Electron, Maestro or Delta debit or credit card.

Once you submit the online form, the same form will be printed by the DVLA and sent to you via post-mail in a week or so. You will be asked to attach a passport-size picture to it and your original BRP and send it back to the DVLA via post-mail.

You will receive your provisional driving licence and your BRP in the mail in a week or so.

b) Attach a passport-size picture.
c) Attach your original BRP.
d) Attach a £43 cheque or Postal Order.
e) Send it to the DVLA via post-mail.
