Anonymous VISA Experience – V (from Pakistan)

(This visa experience is important because the applicant’s visa was issued for less than six months and even though, it was covering their exam date, their visa was reissued for six months later. For complete guidance on how to get your visa dates corrected, kindly check Dr. Reema Rasul’s guidance here).

I was issued a visa for 6 weeks which included my exam date but did not cover my academy. I sent my inquiry to the UKVI on their website via email. I added the following detail.

  • Full name
  • GWF application number
  • Date of Birth
  • Passport number
  • Nationality
  • Visa application centre (city and country)
  • Appointment date
  • Type of visa
  • E-mail address used on application
  • Correct dates and wrong dates

Along with this I also added that I would like my visa to be extended because:

  1. I might have to take PLAB 2 again.
  2. PLAB visa is issued for 6 months.

After this, I was asked to submit my passport and within 7 working days. I got my visa which was extended to 180. However, they did not change the issue date.

  1. Is there any issue if you remain free after house job and take your plab exam later? I mean after 6 months ?

    1. Any clinical gaps, even if the gap is only for a single day, must be explained. There is no restriction on taking a break before taking PLAB 1.

  2. Hi.. I have booked plab 1 for 6 Sept 2017.. Will I be able to get visa for plab exam in a month. . How long will the visa process take? I am currently residing in Europe.

    1. It takes 2 to 4 weeks to get a visa for PLAB from Pakistan. I am not sure about your country of residence. It would be ideal to post this question on Facebook to take guidance from others who know more. Good luck! 🙂

  3. how long does it take to get visa for MTI tier 5?

and we need continuous medical practice till the date of applying to GMC online. right?

    1. I’m not sure honestly. It would be best to post this query on the Facebook groups. I’m sorry for not being more helpful with this. 😔

And yes, the less gaps you have, the easier it is to explain.
