Reema Rasul’s IELTS Experience

I am very grateful to Allah Almighty and my dear mother for this success that stands against a toiling medical journey.

I may not be able to extend an expert advice here. I prepared in only one week with no knowledge or guidance of the exam. It was solely divine help that passed me. But still what I did was this:

1. Road to IELTS ( You access it once you register for the exam)

2. Cambridge IELTS 6 ( Did not have time to do other series but they are good enough)

3. IELTS liz (I think this was the most helpful one. Even if you are a native please do watch her tips for all sections and follow them 90% at least. It is not about the standard of English only there is a lot to do with tactics. I do freelance writing, therefore it was not much of a problem but I really could not have scored if I hadn’t followed her writing tips.)

4. Do not listen to too many opinions for this test please. The general concept is that this exam is the hardest ever. It might be but listening to this before exam is specially injurious to your morale. Don’t tell many people that you are sitting IELTS.

For the poor people like me I would say go for simple Academic IELTS. Until you land in a job in UK you will be fine with this IELTS. Once you get a job I am sure you will be more than happy to sit IELTS for UKVI, score marginally and fly over to the dreamland . For the rich people , they may in IELTS for UKVI, after all it is a package in itself. 🙂

5. None of the sections of this exam is to be taken lightly. Do not over focus on one and neglect others. However, go light with speaking. Two days are more than enough for this.

6. IELTS is very doable.
